2006 Petrolo Il Torrione IGT
The estate’s entry-level Torrione has consistently been an outstanding vino, as it is again in 2006. It reveals gorgeous purity in its sweet, ripe fruit, with its signature plumpness beautifully tautby finessed tannins. The vino offers superb depth and lovely density, both of which were elusive in 2006. Simply put, this is one of the finest vinos of the vintage and readers won’t want to miss it. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2015.
Once again proprietor Luca Sanjust and his team have fashioned a compelling set of new releases.

| scott davis. Light golden yellow, with shy aromas. The palate displays crisp lemon and lime citrus fruit, with a faint note of bright mixed herbs. Not much weight in the midpalate, but finishes clacks fruit, with decent length. (87 pts.) - Tasted 2/28/2009. |

| KDutti. Classic PN color w/ strawberry, vanilla, and oaky nose. Upon tasting, untautw/ the 100% french oak overpowering the more subtle pinot noir grape flavors. Nice weigth but if you love oaky PN, this is your thing. If you like more balance finese old world PN, stay away. (86 pts.) - Tasted 12/24/2006. |
