Marnie Old, why do you hate us?
There have long been rumors that Marnie Old plays dirty. If you work as a server in Center City, like I do, you hear scuttlebutt about her. If you are a restaurateur who is competing against her and STARR Restaurants, she will (as these rumors would have it) stab you in the back. A few calls to the right people in zoning or at the PLCB, and according to rumor, a few convenient lies, and you are buried in red tape. People say this is her standard operating procedure, even against her (former) friends.
We really want to believe that Marnie is not like this, and we want to remain her fans. This is her unofficial fan site, after all. Someone, who we believe to be Ms. Old, has been trying to shut us down for the last 6 months. Whoever is responsible, they have made it their fulltime job to shut us down.
Since we don’t do anything illegal, there is no honest way she can shut us down. We are well within our rights to publish a blog about a public person. However, the person we believe to be Marnie is on a one-man mission to silence us, regardless of the truth or our 1st Amendment rights.

Yes, she is not a very nice person. Very mean too. I have met her a few times. I always got the feeling that she thought she was above everyone.I just can’t understand someone with bad skin, dirty ears, and breath like hers can be that mean.

I heard she used her connections to fuck over a few other restaurants. She has juice in Harrisburg, and she uses it destroy her enemies. I wont eat at any restaurant that is stupid enough to hire her.

Wow. This might be the most useless website I’ve seen in quite some time.
I’d describe myself as neutral when it comes to Marnie Old, but any blog that claims to be an online fan club, but (from what I can discern) does nothing but offer backhanded attacks at its object of fandom can’t really be legit.
Here’s hoping this site does get shut down, if it doesn’t offer more balanced opinions.

You are quite amusing, since all you have managed to do is make me sound super-human. Stole two wine barrels from Chaddsford? What did I do, put one on each shoulder and run down the highway? Do you think I am the Paul Bunyan of the wine industry?
Funny thing is, I do have two wine barrels from Chaddsford Winery. I bought them from my friend Eric Miller (winemaker/owner of Chaddsford) many years ago. Just ask him. He had them delivered to me on his truck.
Before you spout more of your venom, consider your target. My school is the only wine school anywhere in America where wine instructors actually are paid excellent salaries, plus given a benefits package that includes top-notch health care. Even in this troubled economy, I have not laid off anyone. To do that I have cut my own salary and worked 60+ hours a week. Do you honestly think I am a good target for your hate?
There are always going to be a few isolated haters like yourself, cowardly whispering from some dark fetid corner. I know you exist, and I have a good idea who you are. Fortunately for everyone concerned, you do not matter: the Wine School of Philadelphia is the most successful independent wine school in America.
Awful websites like this are an indication of bad PR. Marnie has suffered a few such issues over the last year or so. You may not know this, but a year ago, I went to bat for Marnie: she was being attacked by several sources, and it ended up in the papers. Some of the comments in the blogosphere were nearly as nasty as yours. Not only did I come out publicly in her defense, I went as far as pulling in a few favors to stop a vehemently anti-Marnie article.
I can only assume she knows of this site –and of your comments– and opted to not refute your lies. Whatever her reasons are, that is a shame. More for her than me. Had Marnie reached out to me, I could have told her how to get such a site as this shut down in less than a week.
